The Barrett MRAD is engineered for precision and adaptability, serving effectively in both competitive and tactical environments. Its design integrates advanced modularity with uncompromising accuracy, establishing it as a highly capable platform for discerning operators.
Key Features
Monolithic Receiver & Rail System
The MRAD features a monolithic upper receiver meticulously machined from 7000-series aluminum. This robust construction provides a rigid foundation for consistent performance. An integrated, full-length M1913 Picatinny top rail is precisely machined with a built-in taper, specifically designed to facilitate long-range optics mounting and maintain zero under demanding conditions. The accompanying handguard offers multiple mounting slots at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions, providing a highly adaptable interface for accessory integration without compromising structural integrity.
User-Changeable Barrel System
A core design principle of the MRAD is its field-expedient caliber conversion capability. The user-changeable barrel system allows for rapid conversion to one of eight different calibers or multiple barrel lengths. This process requires only two bolts to be loosened with a standard Torx wrench, eliminating the need for specialized gunsmithing or complex tooling. This feature significantly enhances operational flexibility and logistical efficiency.
Adjustable Match-Grade Trigger Module
Contained within the lower receiver is a fully adjustable, match-grade trigger module. This design permits the user to precisely configure their ideal pull weight and characteristics, facilitating optimal shot placement and reducing shooter-induced error. The module’s accessibility ensures effortless adjustment without disassembly.
Folding & Adjustable Stock
The MRAD stock folds to the right side of the rifle, substantially reducing its overall footprint for streamlined transport and storage. When deployed, the stock locks securely into position, providing a stable and rigid interface comparable to fixed-stock configurations. Tool-less adjustments for length of pull (LOP) and cheek piece height enable rapid, precise fitting to accommodate diverse shooter profiles and equipment requirements.
Ambidextrous Controls
Operational ergonomics are optimized through the inclusion of ambidextrous paddle-style magazine releases and a user-swappable thumb safety, configurable for left or right-handed operators. The rifle also accepts standard AR-15/M16 pattern pistol grips, allowing for further customization of the shooter’s primary interface.
