Key Features
Receiver and Rail System
The foundation of the Workhorse rifle is its forged BAD-15 7075-T6 aircraft-grade aluminum receiver set. This material choice provides a high strength-to-weight ratio and proven durability under stress. The integrated free-float handguard features M-LOK attachment points at the 3, 6, and 9 o’clock positions for accessory integration, while a full-length Picatinny accessory rail at 12 o’clock, with the signature matching notch cut, ensures optic and sight mounting versatility.
Barrel and Bolt Carrier Group
This rifle is equipped with a 16-inch 4150 Chrome-Moly steel barrel, treated with a Black Nitride finish for enhanced durability and corrosion resistance. Chambered in .223 Wylde, the barrel supports both .223 Remington and 5.56x45mm NATO ammunition with optimized precision. Each barrel is individually head-spaced to a matching 9130 steel bolt. The 8620 steel bolt carrier is also Black Nitride coated, facilitating smooth operation and simplifying maintenance. This combination is engineered for consistent operation and longevity.
Enhanced Ergonomics and Controls
The Workhorse incorporates several enhanced components designed to improve user interface and operational efficiency. A smooth Nickel Teflon trigger provides a consistent pull characteristic. Ergonomic enhancements include an enhanced magazine release, billet trigger guard, and an enhanced bolt catch for positive manipulation. Takedown and pivot pins are enhanced for tool-less field stripping. The rifle is fitted with a user-adjustable three-position pistol grip, allowing for personalized fit, and an enhanced single-side safety selector. The stock system is a 6-position B5 Bravo adjustable stock, providing user adaptability for length of pull.
